Uriage

Brand History

2000 years of Spring

Dedicated from the very beginning to the most sensitive skins, Uriage provides a full range of hypoallergenic products formulated with a unique active ingredient, Uriage Thermal Water.

URIAGE's story began centuries ago in Ancient Rome after the invasion of Gaul. During the crossing of the French Alps, the Romans came across a spring at the foot of the Belledone massif. Through bathing in the thermal water, they noticed that they recovered from their wounds at a faster rate. They in fact discovered an exceptional water with unique properties: Uriage Thermal Water.

Today its outstanding properties - exceptionally rich in minerals and trace elements, naturally isotonic (respect the physiology of the skin cells), and truly active (moisturising, soothing, anti-free radicals to only name a few) are just as compelling as ever with the world of dermatology making it a brand recommended by many dermatologists worldwide. Filtered and enriched by nature, Uriage water is bacteriologically pure and extremely safe. Therefore, the products are suitable for all skins including the damaged or irritated ones.

200 years of Thermal Activity

Being recognised of public interest by the National Academy of Medicine in 1877, Uriage Thermal centre now cares all year long for adults and children who have skin associated with problems (skin prone to atopy, eczema, psoriasis). Being the third thermal centre of France, it receives approximately 4000 patients every year.

The Thermal Water is also used for its beneficial properties in rhinitis, sinusitis, rheumatology etc. The patient can therefore benefit from a dual therapeutic action under surveillance of highly qualified medical staff. Services at the Uriage Thermal centre include: underwater massages, pulverisation techniques. The showers and baths are used to obtain significant results where many other treatments have failed.

20 years of Skincare and Innovation

Beyond the Thermal Water, Uriage research has brought to life many patents combined with active ingredients of natural origin, or derived from the latest advances in biotechnology. For the last 20 years, Uriage Dermatological Laboratories have been striving to meet the expectations of the medical universe, doctors, dermatologists and pharmacists in terms of skin hygiene and care.

The Laboratory in France and Overseas

Uriage's Head Office is based in Paris while the production site is set up at the source of the thermal water in Uriage-Les-Bains, near Grenoble. The spring water is directly routed to the production unit via a 400-metre stainless steel pipe.
